Ted Turner "owns 15 ranches in seven states, covering 1.9 million acres. That's 3,000 square miles - bigger than Delaware or Rhode Island." Read the CNN article here.
His restaurant in NYC is about a block away fromt he offices of New York Magazine, that I just finished a stint at. The Rockefeller Center area of midtown is chock full of guys in extremely expensive business suits, and Turner staffed the doors to the restaurant (before it opened) with blazingly hot chicks handing out literature to the businessmen and taking reservations. Smart guy.
NYM also did an article on him - apparently he's the largest owner of buffalo on the planet.
Not a bad way to spend a retirement, I suppose.
