Of all the ways that the Lehigh Valley could be improved with better technology, the Lehigh Valley Crime Finder would not have been high on my list.
I guess that's why I'm not in office. I simply don't have the genius necessary to think, "hey, what could be better for the Lehigh Valley than a way to track crime?" Here, I would have thought that "what could be a better way of STOPPING crime in the Lehigh Valley?" might be a more worthwhile question to answer.
Posted by languorous at September 25, 2006 04:28 PMI like how the Lehigh Valley tries to hide behind broad, umbrella categories, like "Assault."
Where's the proper division? I see no "Domestic Violence," "Hate Crime," nor "He stepped on the heel of my new Jordan's, so he got fucked up."
Posted by: Robb at September 25, 2006 11:53 PMSoooooo sad. I tell ya what needs to happen. Give cops more power to stop this shit. Patrol the bad neighborhoods non stop, not just when the next knifing happens. And the best part, when they are arrested and found guilty, lock em up for a good period of time. Hell, raise my taxes to pay for it. If I can pay to keep Tango del Gado los Panalones off the god damn street and disrupting my life, Im all for it. I mean, think about it, "Tango" probably has ten other siblings, each raised by the public school system because his parents were either 1) too lazy to raise the kids, or 2) too poor, and had to work three jobs to afford to put Tommy Hilfiger jeans in their closet.
Yeah, I know, its all about education, its about making the quality of life better from the get go, and the downsides of society will turn better. Im for doing as much as we can to help people make something of themselves. In the meanwhile, lock "Tango", "Guido", and "my trashy ass next door neighbor" up. Id rather pay for their lock down facility, then pay for the damage they are doing to society.
Can you tell Im in rare form today?

I think that the idea behind tracking crime is that theoretically, they should be using that knowledge to figure out how to stop said crime.
