I can't believe that it's been two weeks since I posted that last poll. My apologies to those of you that check this blog regularly. I'm gonna move on to another poll because, well, I've got little else at this point.
This poll is related to a couple poll requests I've gotten lately. I've attempted to throw them all together and make one, slightly more generic poll.
What do you covet most right now?
Okay, allow me to place some constraints on this poll before things get graphic. Let's make it something that is at least borderline attainable. Let's also make it concern material objects only. We all want world peace and to end world hunger but that's not what this poll is all about. It's also not about wanting a person or people (although that sounds like a winner of a poll and I'll have to do that one soon :-) This is just about material possessions.
What don't you have that you really want?
Posted by languorous at October 13, 2005 01:13 PMI really really want a stinkin Ipod, which I will have soon, but not yet.
Since the radio in my car recently died, and they are replacing it (but dont have the radio yet), that's got to be on my list.
Lastly, since you can buy looks nowadays, I am also gonna say a rock hard body :)
Posted by: lori at October 13, 2005 03:42 PMSetting my sights slightly higher than Lori; I'd have to go with the American Dream: My Own Home.
But it has to be a 'nice' house. If you would like the definition of a 'nice' house, please contact my lender. :-)
Posted by: Gar at October 13, 2005 05:46 PMOh boy...here goes(in random order):
1) White I-pod Video (just released the other day!)
2) Black Acura MDX
3 Any of the following watches: A) Cartier Tank Francaise in 18k white gold B)Jacob & Co. watch
4) Vacation home in Cyprus or Aruba
5) Nikon D2X camera!
Oh yes, it's nice to dream...
Posted by: Christina at October 13, 2005 07:51 PMMy wants are fickle. It seems that every few weeks I think of something it would be nice to have.
A few months ago it was an antique oak writer's desk.
Last week I wanted the Epson Stylus Photo R1800 -- a rather hot photo printer...
Right now... after
Posted by: Robo at October 13, 2005 09:50 PMsorry-- got cut off... If the comment sherrif wants to splice these two together, more power to him. :-)
... after perusing the Thomas Kinkaid gallery, I have caught the art bug again and am interested very much in Kincaid, Peter Sculthorpe, and Ray Hendershot artist proofs.
But I got no cash!
Posted by: Robb at October 13, 2005 09:53 PMAs always, I would love another car. I can't even narrow it down to one. There are several I'd be happy with so I'll just leave it at that.
A house would also be nice although I have a hard time getting excited about buying one because I have the feeling that I will NEVER have one as nice as I'd like. I'd actually prefer a house at the shore and that's REALLY unrealistic at this point.
I could go for MANY camera accessories. I'd say I could go for a better camera altogether but I think the one I have already exceeds my ability.
A new PC is definitely on the currently-coveting list as well. Ideally, I'd like a monster of a machine with an amazing monitor and loaded with about $3k worth of software.
I think that's all for now.
Posted by: languorous at October 14, 2005 01:43 PMYou guys are so right. I need to start thinking bigger. I retract my previous answer.
A Leer Jet
A lovely home in Tahiti
A Land Rover
I want a first home somewhere nearby (tri state area) to be close to riends and family, and a second home in Hawaii. And someone else to pay for it all.
I also would love a powerball ticket with the winning numbers for the $340,000,000 jack pot.... my my thats a lot of zeros!
And if theres room on the list, a BMW M3.
Posted by: lindsay at October 17, 2005 05:04 PMA healthy dog and some time to myself where I dont need to do housework, wash, play with puppy or do schoolwork. I would love to be locked in a room where all I could do is sleep.
