Alright, hot off the success of the last poll, I've decided to double-up. This one may also spawn some variations in the future but I don't think it's as restrictive as the last one. Time will tell. On a sidenote ... those of you that haven't commented on the last poll (you're about to be dropped from the x-mas card list), hit that one first.
Okay, here goes. This one is from the magical world of TV Land where almost every catastrophe imaginable can be wrapped up in about a half hour or an hour. SO, if you could live in any TV world, what would it be? Actually, let's make this another "pick three" because, well, picking one is just too hard most of the time.
I was going to exclude cartoons but, what the hell, go wild. If you want to live with the Flintstones or the Jetsons, be my guest :-)
Well, get on with it. Tell me if you want to live in Melrose Place or go to high school at Beverly Hills High in 90210. Tell me if you want to hang out with Raymond and his freak-ass family or all of your Friends down at Central Perk. Tell me if you want to drive Kit, fly Airwolf or maybe just cruise around in the A-Team van with Hannibal, Mr. T, Peck and Murdock. Alright, I don't want to be accused of leading the audience. I hope that was enough to get you going.
Have at it!
Posted by languorous at September 29, 2005 04:38 PMWow, this is gonna be somewhat tough....
1. I feel like "Everybody Loves Raymond" already is my family in many ways. In fact, it gets down right scary sometimes. I think I might feel the most comfortable in this sitcom because well, it IS Fillman life.
2. Id like to be a cast member of Sunday NFL Countdown, those guys have way too much fun. Thats right, I could sit right between Boomer and Young! Hey Michael, you can go with the 'boys every week, they still suck!
3. I could definitely take over for Lance on CMT's top twenty countdown. Id get to interview a star every week, and maybe have an "in" to my own musical career.
Notes:
As hot as Debra Messing is, there's no way I could go on Will & Grace cause everyone is gay.
Law & Order would be too many dead bodies.
And if I had to pick a cartoon, your damn right Id be Bugs Bunny!
Posted by: Jon at September 29, 2005 05:09 PMWow! This is awesome.
1) Hands down, I would be the new desperate housewife! Money, drama, unruly neighbors. Ahh, dare to dream :)
2) I would live on Friends, because even though Rachel is a waitress in NYC in the beginning and everyone else is struggling, the girls still have a bad ass apartment. That would never happen in real life, so I would take it. Plus, you always have 5 people to hang out with and no one has to work.
3) My last choice...hmmm. Well, it would be Wild on E. They travel, party and all look hot :)
Posted by: Lori at September 29, 2005 06:11 PMHmmm, good one ... :)
1) NIP/TUCK! Anything & everything happens on this show... life would never be boring :)
2)The X Files- I think I would make a great third partner to Fox & Scully. I'd be the great big skeptic who brings them back to reality. Or... maybe I'd learn to 'believe.' hah!
3) Desperate Housewives- I second that, for all the reasons mentioned above. Believe it or not, I think I could see myself living a life similar to Lynette's. I'll take her husband, too.
Posted by: Christina at September 29, 2005 09:41 PMAll because I'd constantly be laughing...
House (I can ignore the sick people)
Malcolm in the Middle
Everybody Loves Raymond
1.) I would move into Seinfeld's building.
2.) or the Simpsons neighborhood, circa 1996.
3.) but probably sit at the desk next to Tony and Wilbon. I know it's not really the "TV world", but dag, if it aint the best show on television.
Hmmm.... I think Cheers would be a blast, bartending is fun, there are always people to talk to, and hey, you're in a bar almost all the time! (and its somewhat socially acceptable)
Even though it might suck to be marooned on a (not quite) deserted desert island, I think Lost has to be on this list because if I were there, I wouldn't have to wait an entire week to see what happens next.
And lastly, Sex and the City. Living in NYC, being a writer, and having enough designer shoes to outfit a small country.
Posted by: lindsay at October 4, 2005 02:57 PMThere's a large part of me that wants to go with Baywatch on this one. I'm not even sure what the show was about but the location and eye-candy of the commercials were enough to make me consider it for this poll.
When I posted this poll, I never imagined that I would get replies in the realm of talk / news shows. I've gotta admit that hanging out with the PTI crew would be a TON of fun but, for me, this poll was about immersing yourself in some fictional world, not behind a real desk on a sound stage in Hollywood.
That being said, my first answer is Dawson's Creek because, well, it might be the safest town ever imagined. When the biggest crisis in town is the relationship of a couple high school kids, it's gotta be clear sailing.
My second answer is the Los Angeles of the show Angel. It's gotta be one of the most interesting places to spend an evening with deamons, vampires and some seriously hot chicks. Basically, I'd spend my days in Capeside and my nights in Angel's Los Angeles.
My third answer has got to be (has GOT to be) on the set of Boston Legal. For those of you that don't know, it is THE BEST SHOW ON TV :-) I couldn't imagine a funnier duo than Spader and Shatner (Alan Shore and Denny Crane are their character names).
On the cartoon front, I'd be all over Scarlet from GI Joe or Cheetarah from Thundercats. If it weren't for the fact that they live in places I couldn't or wouldn't live, Ariel (The Little Mermaid) and Jasmine (Aladdin) would be right up on that list, hahaha.
