Alright, here it is, the poll to redefine our lives.
The word is ACCESSORIES.
Is it ack-sess-oh-rees ...
or is it ah-sess-oh-rees?
I know, I know, so seemingly simple yet, trust me ... comment on it and it'll change your life.
Posted by languorous at March 18, 2005 07:36 AMI worked at Circuit City, so I know DAMN WELL its ACK-SESS-OH-REES!
No if's, ands, or buts about it!
Posted by: Jon at March 18, 2005 10:18 AMI got two words for you BLING - BLING!!!!!!!!
Posted by: dopey at March 18, 2005 10:26 AMdefinitely ack... who the hell says ah.
Posted by: Karen at March 18, 2005 10:38 AMTo answer Karen's question, I've heard SEVERAL people say it without the hard "K" sound. In fact, some people might comment as such later so try not to be too judgemental.
Posted by: languorous at March 18, 2005 10:50 AMIt is most certainly ass-sess-or-ees... much like suppose-eb-lee... and pee-ro-geee...
Nah, it's ACK! God damn it! ACK I tell you!
Posted by: Robb at March 18, 2005 11:57 AMi agree with everyone....ack
but i do appreciate bling bling even more :)
Posted by: Lori at March 18, 2005 02:30 PMThe only people who say ahsess--- are the same pretensious ones who also refuse to pronounce the "sck" in schedule. They insist on saying "shedule". Besides, in accessory, there are two "c"'s, how can you ignore two "c"'s?
Posted by: lindsay at March 18, 2005 06:34 PMI'll believe that accessories is without the 'ack' when people start saying 'ah- sess' for access.
Please- I cant stand when people reinvent words with their own pronunciations.
For a poll within a poll, how would you pronounce 'Associates'? Ass-o- shi-ates or Ass-o- see-ates? I hope you'd say the latter.
Posted by: Christina at March 18, 2005 06:39 PMi am going to have to say ack! i don't think i have ever heard it pronounced "ah." i live in west virginia and they even say it with an "ack." for the poll within a poll - i don't pronounce it either way. i would have to say it ah-so-see-ates. have a nice day!
Posted by: jenn at March 19, 2005 08:34 AMHuh, a poll within a poll ... I'll bite ... it's ah-so-she-ates as far as I'm concerned.
